	I live in the small town of Brookline, Vermont (population 412) with my wife Lynn (our daughter, Kim is currently living and working in Boston) and our Jack Russell, Zoey. I grew up in Champaign, Illinois. We own an old Vermont house bordered on the west, north, and east by trees and faces a berry farm and west river valley to the south.

I have run seven marathons including Boston; raced in one triathlon (USTS event); and am a veteran indoor rower (7th place, World Championships in '92 and winner of many regional events and championships).

I am a motor racing enthusiast with emphasis in Formula 1.

10 years as production manager/designer for Research Press publishing company

2 years as art director for four weekly newspapers

5 years as lead book designer designer for Irving Perkins Associates

20th year as owner of John Reinhardt Book Design

While living in Illinois, Lynn and I would watch "Newhart" every Monday evening. I guess the music finally got to us. We sold our house, left our careers, sold our '73 BMW Bavaria, and packed everything we owned into a Ryder truck and moved to Vermont. It's been twenty-five years since we made that move. My office overlooks the beautiful green mountains of Vermont!

It hasn't been easy,

There’s nothing more precious than daddy’s little girl. This is a picture of my daughter, Kim, and me “way back when.” Times sure have changed since then. My daughter is now 24 and (ass’t) managing a Sur la Table store, and I no longer wear glasses!

Kim is the light of my life. She has a real talent for managing and retail and for organizing events, interior/display decoration, and design in general.
